Community Outreach & Wellness

The goal of the Northwest Florida Area Agency on Aging Community Outreach and Wellness Program is to promote the health and well-being of low income, culturally diverse, rural and underserved elders in Planning and Service Area 1 (Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton counties). Awareness campaigns, meetings, workgroups, training sessions and special events will be held that will increase elders knowledge and enrich their social interactions thereby allowing them to age in place, with security, dignity and purpose.

Some of the educational events include:

Arthritis education and awareness
Injury prevention education and awareness
Mental health awareness education

The Outreach and Wellness program is operated through West Florida Area Health Education Center
