Emergency Home Energy
for the Elderly Program (EHEAP)
This program provides assistance for home energy emergencies to low-income Florida households in which elderly individuals reside. A home energy emergency is defined as:
the household's source of heat or cooling has been or is going to be cut off
the household is unable to get delivery of heating fuel and is either out of fuel or in imminent danger of being out of fuel
the household has other problems with lack of heat/cooling in the home such as no blankets and fans
Assistance is provided on a "first come, first serve" basis, with an annual limit of $300 per household, until funds are depleted.
